When Southern Charm’s Naomie Olindo posted a recent selfie on Instagram, her followers noticed something looked a little different. That’s because it was. Olindo’s post was one of her first since undergoing a recent rhinoplasty.
The procedure was a long time coming.
“Getting my nose done was something I’ve wanted since I was 8 years old,” Olindo said, according to Bravo’s blog The Lookbook. “It’s still early in my recovery, but I’ve never been happier.”
New York facial plastic surgeon Dr. Joshua Zimm performed Olindo’s procedure, and the results clearly caught everyone’s attention. In the days following Olindo’s post and subsequent coverage of her procedure, Dr. Zimm’s RealSelf profile received three times more visits than it usually does.
While people are already impressed with the results, Olindo is a long way from seeing her final result. Just a couple weeks removed from surgery, Dr. Zimm said Olindo is “not anywhere near a finished product” and will see her results improve over time. Dr. Zimm said it typically takes at least a full year from a rhinoplasty procedure for all of the swelling in the tip and bridge of the nose to subside.
Rhinoplasty is a complex and specific procedure. No two results will be the same. Dr. Zimm said that is why it’s so important to do your research and find the right doctor for you.
“You want to seek out a highly qualified plastic surgeon, or facial plastic surgeon, who has specific expertise in rhinoplasty,” Dr. Zimm said.
Finding the right doctor can be time consuming. But, it’s an important one. One of Dr. Zimm’s patients went through 13 consultations before she booked her procedure with him. Dr. Zimm recommends looking through before and after photos and reading patient reviews to find a doctor who delivers results. Finding the right doctor is worth the effort.
Olindo found the right doctor for her and got the result she wanted.
“I did it for me and no one else and want to be as open as possible about it,” Olindo said. “I’m so happy with my decision and would do it 100 times over.”
