If you’ve ever wandered by or visited a drybar, you know it’s a thing. Getting a quick, affordable blowout at your convenience is probably one of the most gratifying parts of being an urban woman in this decade. And now, one woman wants to bring that drybar-like experience to aesthetics.

Alchemy 43 is the brainchild of Nicci Levy, who spent years working in sales for makeup companies and Allergan, selling brands like Botox, Juvéderm and Latisse in Beverly Hills. When Levy saw how drybars were taking off, she thought, “Why not Botox?” And Alchemy 43 was born.

Alchemy 43’s mission is centered around enhancing your natural beauty, while being convenient and comfortable. The idea is that your Botox touch-up should feel as luxurious as a trip to your favorite salon.

Looking at Alchemy 43’s menu of services, it’s easy to see the experiences they offer are more than just a treatment or two. The company has created fun names for each of its services, like “Smooth Talker” for laugh lines (Juvéderm, Restylane or Vollure), and “Hello, Bright Eyes” for Botox or Dysport. All told, Alchemy 43 serves up more than a dozen highly customizable options, to treat everything from a simple pimple, to dryness with hydrating oxygen masks.

We were intrigued, so we talked with Levy about her plans for Alchemy 43 below.

How did you come up with the idea for Alchemy 43?

I was an Allergan rep for Botox, Juvéderm and Latisse in Beverly Hills from 2009 to 2012, and in that role, I saw that there was a white space to truly carve out cosmetic injectables in their own category. Creating a space that is rooted in the best technique and highest level of service and offers a convenient, comprehensive beauty experience to consumers.

Tell me about the treatments you offer. Which treatments are most popular, and why do you think they’re top performers?

All our microtreatments are clinically effective, minimally invasive and part of an ongoing regimen. Our “Hello, Bright Eyes” — Botox and Dysport — microtreatment is our most popular treatment, with our “Perfect Pout” — Juvéderm, Vollure and Restylane— lip augmentation treatment being our second most popular. I think “Hello, Bright Eyes” is a winner because it’s both preventative, enhancing to the upper face, and it also can smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

What makes Alchemy 43 different from other medspas?

We like to say that we are more salon than spa. We specialize in one thing and one thing only — cosmetic injectables. We’ve crafted an entire experience around this one thing and offer a really unique experience, from a 3D consultation to the makeup touch-up post-service.

How does the process typically work? Is there a required consultation or can you set a treatment appointment right away?

We offer complimentary 3D consultations all the time and encourage anyone interested to pop in for one. Most opt to get treated same day, which we will happily accommodate.

What training do your aestheticians have?

All of our practitioners are highly trained registered nurses, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. We are constantly training on advanced techniques. We believe that we can never stop learning!

Who is the majority of your clientele? Are you seeing many millennials?

Yes! Over half of our clients are under 35. Close to 15 percent are males.

What is the average spend per visit and how frequently are most people receiving treatments?

Average spend per visit is $485, and we are seeing our clients an average of three to four times a year.

What are your future plans for Alchemy 43?

We are continuing to grow our brand via education and new store openings. We are opening three new locations in Los Angeles now and will launch New York and Dallas markets next. From there, we will keep growing. Look out for our exciting new product line in early 2019, too!
