It takes a lot to be a Real Housewife: Real estate, jewelry, clothes and a social calendar full of dinner and drinks. And it helps to look terrific for the cameras. All the time.

As we celebrate the return of “The Real Housewives of New York City” to Bravo, we decided to look back on some of the originators of “owning it” when it comes to dropping into their favorite doctors’ offices for a little zap, nip and tuck.

What makes the Real Housewives own this space? Not only were the Housewives talking about cosmetic and elective treatments long before most everyone else–well, maybe except the Kardashians–they were taking the cameras right into plastic surgeons’ offices with them.

And now, our picks for the top moments featuring the RHONY and cosmetic treatments:

Bethenny talks Botox, boob jobs

No one is more direct than NYC Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel. And when it comes to talking about what she’s done, she’s been equally forthright.

Bethenny told the Daily Mail in early 2016 that she had Botox injected into her jawline to help alleviate a teeth-grinding issue. Over the years, she said the Botox has softened and relaxed her jawline, adding that she likes to get the treatment now and then for the real reason we all reach for a toxin: “I don’t do it religiously,” she told the Daily Mail. “Maybe once a year when I think of it, l’ll be like, ‘oh I look like a Shar Pei, let me do that.’ ”

Bethenny has also revealed that she’s had breast implants after losing a lot of weight, but they didn’t feel like her, so she had them removed and got a breast lift instead. The Skinnygirl mogul is a fan of yoga and healthy eating, so everything else? All Bethenny.

Ramona and Sonja melt their fat.

Oh my. When Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan get together, you know it’s going to be blast. These two are often inseparable, and when it comes to getting treatments in tandem, it’s no different.

In this episode at Dr. Sharon Giese‘s office, Ramona and Sonja take along former RHONY Housewife Kristen Taekman to watch while they discuss having their fat melted from their abdomen and love handles with an ultrasound device.

As Sonja puts it, it’s never to early to start keeping it “light, tight and right.”

Sonja’s vagina gets an upgrade.

Sonja is known for being pretty much up for almost anything, so it’s no surprise that she was one of the first Housewives to experiment with vaginal rejuvenation.

Her weapon of choice? FemiLift.

In this episode, she visits Lexington Medical, saying, “My girlfriends are up having a fabulous dinner and drinks without me, I might as well…resurface my vagina.”

Sonja also bemoans “trout mouth,” or marionette lines, on the episode. “The only thing worse than trout mouth? Is trout snatch.”

Sonja looks a little nervous, but at the time, this vaginal rejuvenation (Link: NSFW) process was still fairly new. Now, with several vaginal rejuvenation devices (Link also NSFW) on the market, it’s become one of the most popular procedures among women to help with tightening, lubrication and even incontinence — so much so that another former RHONY, Cindy Barshop, progressed from her Completely Bare hair removal shops to opening VSpot, a medical spa for women’s health.

Here, Sonja becomes one of the first Housewives to undergo vaginal rejuvenation on camera:

While Jules breaks hers…

One of the most cringeworthy moments in RHONY history was when Jules Wainstein describes her accident in which she “breaks her vagina.”

“One day, I got a call from her that she was on her way to the emergency room,” New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer told Refinery29. “She was going out of a window to smoke a cigarette, tripped and injured her labia. I always joke that I’ve never had a vaginal emergency, but when I rushed to the hospital, sure enough it was a true emergency. If you Google the genital injury, hers was one of the worst cases I’ve seen.”

While Jules is no longer on the show, we hope she and her vagina are doing just fine.

Ramona shows up in Mexico, red-faced and ready to party.

It’s no wonder that Ramona makes this list more than once. She takes self-care pretty seriously, and has even written a list on her site about everything she has — and hasn’t — done, including Botox, IPL for sunspots, and Juvederm for under her eyes. She’s also had an eyelid lift to get rid of excess skin and a breast augmentation.

Perhaps one of the funniest moments last season was when Ramona showed up at Bethenny’s rented beach house in Mexico, completely red-faced from an unnamed procedure. Whether it was CO2 Laser, which she’s admitted to getting, or another facial skincare treatment like a chemical peel, the lesson here is these treatments work, but you need time to heal. It’s probably not ideal to head to a sun-soaked country right after one. We hope she wore plenty of sunscreen.

One thing’s for sure: There’s never a dull moment with Ramona. Watch the video below:

What can we expect to see this year? Who knows? But at least we know, according to Tinsley Mortimer, that a good set of lashes can fix almost anything.

The Real Housewives of New York City‘s 10th season starts April 4 on Bravo. You can find a medical expert anytime on RealSelf.
